2 years agoPentagon says shootdown was at 2:42pm when an F-16 fired a sidewinder missile at an airborne object flying 20,000 ft. above Lake Huron. Plan was to shoot it down over water to avoid hurting civilians on ground and improve chances for debris recovery

2 years agoSome pilots that interacted with the object over Alaska said that it "interfered with their sensors". Some pilots also claimed to have seen no identifiable propulsion on the object, and could not explain how it was staying in the air - CNN
